Join Nicole Florez for this engaging webinar exploring how English Learners (ELs) bring valuable linguistic knowledge into the classroom, and how leveraging this knowledge supports a more efficient path to learning English. Nicole highlights how IMSE’s OG+ and IMSE LAB resources can be intentionally used to build on ELs’ home language strengths while supporting their English literacy development. Participants will explore practical tools, including cross-linguistic connections, phoneme transfer charts, and cognates, and learn how these resources make instruction more accessible and meaningful for EL students. Educators will gain a clear understanding of how and when to use these tools, and why they make a significant difference for students learning English in the classroom.
