Comprehensive OG+ Teacher Guide Grade 2
This guide is aligned with the Grade 2 scope and sequence presented in IMSE’s 30-hour Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Plus Course (concepts 3-consonant blends–homophones). Building upon the sequence outlined in Books A (kindergarten) and B (first grade), students continue to advance to more challenging concepts, including 3- consonant blends, schwa, Bossy R, and rules for adding suffixes. For each concept, there are notes related to the phonology and orthography of the concept as well as detailed outlines of the drills and routines incorporated during instruction. Additionally, words and sentences for dictation are included with each concept. A sample weekly lesson plan outline for both a 90-minute and 30-minute literacy block is also provided.
